hey.
welcome to the site! if you couldn't already guess, the name's ricky. pleased to meet you.
if you know me, you know me. if you don't, here's a little summary:
- i'm a software developer passionate about backend development (could you guess by the site?).
- i began programming in late 2013 by creating mods and resources for games i enjoyed playing (with some of my resources reaching 100,000+ unique users and an anti-cheat system handling 10,000+ daily users), and i've been programming ever since.
- i've worked with various programming languages, development stacks, and technologies, but my main focus has always been backend development.
- i graduated from the university of calgary with a bachelor of science in computer science.
currently, i assist the names and branding (nab) lab, working under dr. ruth pogacar, as a research assistant at the university of calgary's haskayne school of business.
i'm actively seeking a full-time software developer role, with a preference for backend development. feel free to reach out to me on linkedin if you have a position!
i also offer it consulting and software development — feel free to reach out via linkedin to discuss.
during my off time i enjoy:
- hanging out with friends
- going for drives and exploring random areas
- working out and staying fit
- learning new skills (really trying to get back into actively reading)
- developing resources for games like garry's mod and mods like fivem (when i get the urge to do so)
